Today was absolutely gloomy. The rain in Southern California got the best of me, I've been at home lounging and taking naps. In addition, my friend was over to look at my new dress that I purchased at a thrift store (see above). Safe to say, we really weren't up to go venture outside. It was a lazy day and I honestly needed one.

Aside from that, I've been nervously counting the hours till my interview at RockHarbor. I can't imagine those three weeks I might be spending in South Africa. It's a beautiful place with a beautiful culture, but also a place in need. I'm really hoping that I can finally feel the security of helping someone in need across the world because it truely has been on my heart forever. I've done some work here in the states (and I'm planning on continuing to), but the places abroad sometimes are just never thought of. It'll only bring me comfort to aid to those who are unfortunate. These people need to see the love that we have for them, and I feel more than ready to make that happen.

P.S. I thought this was a beautiful cover of 'Happy Ending'

  11. I have been to South Africa for 3 months and it was an amazing experience. Met a few American girls there who did something similar as you are going to do. Wish you a lot of fun and luck if you are going.

  12. You have such a beautiful heart and i think i've found a kindred spirit in you. It has also been a dream of mine to go over-seas and help those that need it. My mother often tells me of converations i've had with her as young as 3yrs old about this. At the moment i havn't been given this opportunity to travel yet but since it seems like you have a chance i'm wishing you the very best in your endeavour. National aid work is as much needed as international aid :)

Thats is a beautiful rendition of Happy Ending. That song is one of my favourites off his album. She sung it with much passion it churned my heart a bit.

Again sending you my well wishes.

    Luv Eeli xx

  16. I loooove thrift stores. And Southern California is filled with great ones, I used to live there ;) In what part do you live?

Also, I wish you the best in your RockHarbor interview. Like you, I've always dreamed of volunteering in Africa in any way that I can, so I can relate to how you're feeling. Keep a positive mind! :D
